Diego Rivera: Spanish Artist

I'm very fond of this artist's work. Diego Rivera is a fairly well known artist whose art comes from a mixture of Gauguin, Aztec, and Mayan sculptures. His paintings support Mexican muralism. I hope you enjoy his works of art just as much as I do. They are very bright with vivid colors, truly a brilliant artist.

Here is a link if you're interested in reading more about Diego and other Spanish artists.

  1. Great Post. What is art if not seen in context of its purpose and intent of the artist. I posted a brief note of Frida Kalo, who was married to Diego Rivera. Rivera could not stay out of trouble. A devoted Leninist Communist, he was booted from Mexico and later denounced in New York for paintings of Lenin. Still, his art is vibrant and important. Aesthetically, it is the embodiment of Spanish Culture.
